Dubai Taxi Jobs | DTC & Franchise Vacancies

The Dubai Taxi sector employs thousands of drivers. While the Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) is the government entity, they only operate about 50% of the taxis. The rest are run by private franchises.

For job seekers, the “Golden Rule” is understanding the pay structure. Most taxi jobs are Commission Based, meaning you don’t get a fixed salary at the end of the month—you get a percentage of what you earn. If you work hard, you earn 4,000+ AED. If you sleep, you earn nothing.

The “Taxi” Reality: The Target System

Driving a taxi is a business, not just a job. Here is the math:

1. The Commission Model (No Work, No Pay)

  • The Deal: Most companies offer a very low basic salary (e.g., AED 1,000) or Zero Basic Salary.
  • The Earnings: You keep 30% to 35% of the total meter income.
  • The Target: You are usually given a daily target (e.g., AED 450 per shift). If you miss the target, your commission percentage might drop.

2. The 12-Hour Shift

  • The Grind: Taxis operate 24/7. Drivers work 12-hour shifts (Day or Night).
  • The Impact: It is physically exhausting. You work 6 or 7 days a week. There is very little social life, as you are always chasing the next passenger to cover your target.

3. RTA Fines & Black Points

  • The Risk: Dubai is strict. A red light violation or speeding fine often comes out of your pocket, not the company’s. Too many “Black Points” on your RTA card can get your permit cancelled.

The Color Code: Which Company to Apply To?

Dubai Taxis are color-coded by company. You can apply to any of these:

How to Apply Online?

Recruitment is rarely done via email. It is mostly Walk-ins or Agencies.

  1. DTC Recruitment Center:
    • Visit the DTC Main Office in Muhaisnah 4. They often have a recruitment desk open for walk-ins.
    • Website: dtc.dubai.ae.
  2. Privilege Labour Recruitment:
    • This is a major agency that hires for Dubai Taxi. Search for their “Walk-in Interview” days in Al Quoz or Sonapur.
  3. Walk-in Interviews (Franchises):
    • Cars Taxi and Arabia Taxi frequently hold open days at their garages in Al Quoz or DIP (Dubai Investments Park). Bring your CV, Passport Copy, and License.

Scam Warning:

Legitimate taxi companies will deduct the visa/training cost from your future salary. Never pay cash upfront to an “agent” promising you a taxi job.
